More women and more innovation in Guarapuava
Guarapuava currently has a 50/50 administration, meaning that it has the same number of women as men in the first echelon of the city government. This innovative and important step puts women in the spotlight, giving them more voice and opportunities.
As a technology park, we connect with governments to carry out actions that provide society with better futures. At the municipal level, the Secretariat of Economic Development is very connected to our purpose of developing the region and, at the inauguration of the new secretaries, it was one of the portfolios that was assumed by a woman. Janaína Naumann, the new Secretary of Economic Development, explains that looking at Guarapuava today and seeing that there are 50% women in leadership positions makes her hopeful. “I hope to build a better city so that other women can see a future of achievements,” she says.
Last year, the Secretariat for Economic Development and Innovation was split between the Secretariat for Economic Development and the Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation, but according to Janaina, innovation will still be present in the portfolio, because both go together. “In partnership with Secretary Sávio Denardi, we intend to keep the departments aligned, developing several projects, working together for an increasingly developed Guarapuava”, she guarantees.
Cilla Tech Park dialogues with several departments, to provide innovation in several areas. Two other departments that are connected to the park and have women in charge are the Secretary of Culture and the Secretary of Public Policies for Women.
According to Rita Felchak, Secretary of Culture, gender equity in the current administration not only provides a more democratic and representative space, but is also another step to promote opportunities for women in the region. “I believe that together, valued, we can accomplish many projects to develop the social, cultural, tourist, and economic potential of our region. I hope that the feminine look, their opinion, intelligence, and wisdom are respected, so that women occupy more spaces and that even more opportunities arise for future generations: that our girls grow up with references and with a more just labor market”, she comments.
To support the process of equity in the world of innovation and technology, Cilla Tech Park and the Secretariat of Public Policies for Women work together. For Priscila Schram, secretary of the portfolio, this partnership has created in the Secretariat a restless search for innovation in the projects. “We seek to innovate in the way we plan, execute, and deliver our actions to the community, and we have also taken an important step in the choice of promoting professional training in the IT area for women with the Female Potential Program. The partnership with Cilla was decisive for all this,” he guarantees.
